Find your slot.
On your furnace, look for a one-inch rectangular slot near the cold-air return — usually with the old disposable filter sticking out. On a return-air vent, it's behind the grille on the wall or ceiling.
Slide it into your existing HVAC slot, let it work for three months, unzip the sleeve, wash on cold delicate, snap it back in. That's the entire instruction manual.

Slide the disposable straight out. There's no clip, no screw, no airflow direction to track — disposables only seal one way and so does Filter4Life.

Take the steel Filter4Life frame (with one microfibre sleeve already zipped on) and slide it straight into the same slot. It seats flush — no force needed.

Run your fingers around the frame edge: you should feel the metal flush with the slot opening, with no gap. Then turn the HVAC back on.

That's it for installation. Every three months you'll unzip the microfibre sleeve, swap in a clean one from the kit, and wash the used one on cold delicate.
01The zipper runs along one edge of the steel frame — slide it open and the microfibre sleeve comes off.
02Zip a fresh one shut and slide the frame back into the HVAC slot. You're back in service in under a minute.
03Cold, delicate, no softener, no bleach. Tumble dry low or hang flat. The sleeve is dryer-safe — it's designed for the cycle.
